Areas of focus.

A higher score comes from more than knowing the material. Every student gets help across all four.

01

Material & planning

Study materials provided, plus help building a schedule and staying organized, so the work between sessions is structured rather than guesswork.

02

Time management & strategy

The pacing, section approach, and decision-making that turn what you know into points on a timed, high-pressure test.

03

Content

Every question type covered, building the underlying skills and content knowledge each section actually tests.

04

Mistake prevention

Avoiding the common errors and the traps placed by test writers, so you stop losing points you have already earned.

Analyze, then adjust.

Every 90-minute one-on-one session starts with your last one. We look at what worked, find what didn't, and retarget the plan to your actual performance instead of a generic curriculum.

Analyze

Open each session by reviewing your latest test and homework to see exactly where points were won and lost.

Adjust

Retarget the plan to the patterns in your mistakes, so time always goes to the highest-leverage fix.

Apply

Work the adjusted priorities with concept review, targeted drills, and timed sets that build durable speed.

Recap

Close every session with a recap and clear next steps, so progress compounds week over week.

About One Sigma Tutors

Built from my own climb up the curve.

I did my undergrad at Northeastern and have worked in a range of engineering and manufacturing roles since. That path eventually led me to apply to grad school.

Along the way I struggled with the GMAT and GRE, and One Sigma Tutors grew out of how I answered that. I built a study system that got me to my target score and into MIT and other top graduate programs. That experience taught me that improving a score is about far more than test content. It is equally about time management, structured study plans, and preventing mistakes.

I first learned this in high school, where strong tutoring moved my scores from the 65th to the 99th percentile. The inspiration is right there in the name. One sigma means one standard deviation, and I want to help students improve their scores by more than that.

Good to know.

ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE, all one-on-one. The same method, building content, strategy, and a study plan together, applies to each of them.

Start with a free 20-minute intro call. It can be with the student, with parents, or with both, together or separately, whatever works best. If it's a fit, we move to a free consultation, then I build a custom study plan before you commit to anything.

No bulk plans and no long-term commitments. Sessions are pay-as-you-go, because every student's needs are different. You schedule what you need, when you need it.

Every session is 90 minutes, online, and one-on-one. That is enough time to review past work, dig into new material, and finish with a clear recap and next steps, and we can work together from anywhere with the same materials and structure.

Simple. If you're not satisfied with my service, you don't pay for it.
